BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in the city of Manchester (England, UK), Cleopantha first hit the stage at the young age of 6, competing nationwide in Disco Freestlye, Ballroom and Latin Dance. It was from this early age that Cleo knew she was destined to perform on stage. For a decade, she competed across the country winning numerous awards, gaining an astonishing collection of 200+ trophies and medals. In her teenage years, she broadened her interest and began classes in Street, African and Ballet Dance via Company Fierce Dance Academy. It was after this training that she successful gained a place at Pendleton College, renown for it’s excellent performing arts department. Cleo studied at Pendleton for two years and gained both an A Level and BTEC National Diploma in Dance. After receiving her qualifications, she successfully auditioned and gained a place at one of Europe’s leading Dance institutes, The Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD). Cleo studied at NSCD for four years, graduating with a BPA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Dance and a Foundation Diploma in Contemporary Dance.

After graduating from NSCD, Cleo moved to London, the epicentre of creative work. During her first few years in London, Cleo worked in the TV and media sector as an actress and assistant presenter. Some credits include 4music Last Fan Standing (2015), CBBC World’s End (2015) and BBC Ordinary Lies (2015).  She also modelled for well known brands such as VERY.CO.UK. After putting her modelling portfolio online, Cleo was scouted by the well-respected founder of The Cocoa Butter Club, Sadie Sinner. It was upon this meeting that Cleo began to explore the delights of cabaret and finally found an art form that spoke to her, the art of tease! Cleo fell in love with all things burlesque, and astonishingly was offered her first TV Burlesque role as an  exotic dancer on a Michael Jackson Biopic for Channel 5, Man In The Mirror (Broadcast in the UK and Europe from 2016). This was only the beginning of Cleo’s journey into rhinestones, feathers and glitter.

Having taken the UK Burlesque scene by storm, Cleo developed a Neo Burlesque style that is influenced by both her dance training and her love of both hip hop and commercial music. Cleo headlined Bristol Burlesque Festival in 2018 and performed with Hip Hop Legend, Fatman Scoop at GR Presents Hip Hop Cabaret (Underbelly Festival). In 2019, Cleo performed at her first Glastonbury Festival and attended five burlesque festivals worldwide including Stuttgart Burlesque Festival where she was kindly invited to perform at the gala night and sit on the judges panel, crowning The Stuttgart Burlesque Queen/ King 2019. In 2019, Cleo also debuted her signature act Jessica Rabbit. Cleo plans to ever expand her reputation, both in Europe and beyond. She has now performed globally in such countries as Germany, Finland and Panama and hopes her art form will take her up and beyond! If you book tickets to see her, expect a fierce and feisty performance that has be described by many as unapologetic.
